Old Time Peach Cobbler Recipe

Announcements

Old-Time Peach Cobbler is the kind of dessert that takes you straight back to simpler days—when recipes were handwritten, kitchens smelled like butter and sugar, and desserts were made with patience and love. This classic dish has been a staple in homes for generations, celebrated for its warm, comforting flavors and rustic charm. With juicy peaches bubbling beneath a golden, tender topping, peach cobbler is the definition of homemade comfort.

What makes an old-time peach cobbler so special is its honesty. There’s nothing fancy or complicated about it—just ripe peaches, a perfectly balanced sweetness, and a buttery crust that soaks up all that rich, fruity goodness. As it bakes, the peaches soften and release their juices, creating a thick, syrupy filling that blends beautifully with the topping. The aroma alone is enough to gather everyone around the kitchen, waiting patiently for that first warm spoonful.

This dessert has always been about togetherness. Served at Sunday dinners, family reunions, church gatherings, or quiet evenings at home, Old-Time Peach Cobbler carries memories in every bite. Whether made with fresh summer peaches or canned peaches when times are simple, it remains a timeless favorite that never goes out of style.

This Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler recipe is not only extremely easy to make from scratch, but it’s made with fresh or canned peaches so you can enjoy it year round! This is one of my mom’s favorite family recipes, and while I’m biased, I think it’s the best of the best!

Peach season is pretty much the best time of year, isn’t it! I love going to U-pick farms or buying a large box from a local vendor. Peaches are one of those things I can never get enough of! I have too many favorite peach recipes that I rotate each season, starting with my favorite homemade peach jam.

This peach cobbler recipe comes from my mom, and it’s a favorite family recipe she used to make for us all the time growing up! The best part about this recipe is that it literally takes 5 minutes to make! My mom often used a jar of homemade canned peaches, but you can also use fresh peaches!
